Cofounded in 1975 by John, Benjamin, Emanuel and Mario Bonnici, the Bonnici Group is composed of three subsidiary entities - Bonnici Bros Ltd, Zrar Ltd and United Equipment Co. (UNEC) Ltd. 

Starting off from a family-run company dealing in road building, over the years the Group has become a pioneer, if not a leading entity in the local construction industry. Since its inception, the Group has expanded its business portfolio to include quarrying, thus giving birth to Zrar Ltd, which company also operates a number of plants for the production of ready mixed batching, hot asphalt and polymer modified bitumen under the label Sealoflex. Whilst the Bonnici Group deals primarily in civil engineering and road building, in the last decade it has also diversified its product line through the setting up of UNEC Ltd, dealing mostly in the supply and distribution of heavy plant and industrial machinery, marine equipment and spare-parts. UNEC Ltd has acquired some of the world best renowned brand in the field, including the likes of Caterpillar, Hyster and DAF amongst others. It also offers industrial and warehouse equipment as well as vans and trucks for lease.

Today the Group has achieved an excellent reputation for its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. It employs over 180 employees, including a team of professional and skilled employees led by a dedicated management team. Its clients and people - in particular their health and safety - are the primary focus of all the Bonnici Group's activity.
